WHAT CAN YOU LEARN?
GUITAR - From your first chords to playing full songs, improvisation and performance.
PIANO - Build your technique, learn songs you love and develop your understanding of music.
DRUMS - Learn rhythm, coordination, grooves, fills and how to play with other musicians.
SINGING - Develop confidence, pitch, technique and performance skills.
MUSIC PRODUCTION - Learn how to create your own music using modern production tools, beats, samples and Ableton.
DJ - Learn beatmatching, mixing, transitions and the fundamentals of DJ performance.
MUSIC IS MORE THAN JUST LESSONS
At WMA, we want students to become musicians, not simply people who can pass a music exam. As students progress, they can explore: Playing Singing Songwriting Music production DJing Recording Performing Our goal is to give students the skills and confidence to eventually create and perform their own music.
MEET THE ACADEMY
Founded by Simon Briley, Whitsunday Music Academy was created to provide high-quality, creative and enjoyable music education for the Whitsunday community. With experience across instruments, songwriting, electronic music, production and performance, Simon's approach is centred around helping students discover what makes music exciting for them. As the academy grows, students will have access to a growing team of passionate music teachers and a wider range of musical opportunities.
